Please read the terms and conditions before making your appointment.
Eligibility
To convert your overseas licence to a Victorian licence, you need to:

Be at least 18 years old.

Have a current overseas licence.

Have your overseas licence reviewed for authenticity which may require it being sent off for verification.

Not be disqualified from getting a Victorian licence.

Pass the appropriate Road Law Knowledge, Hazard Perception and Drive Tests.
Bring to your appointment:

A completed licence application form.

Your original evidence of identity.
- Proof that you live in Victoria. If you don't have any proof of your Victorian address (e.g. a bank statement, utility bill or rental agreement), make sure you get someone to sign the Victorian residence declaration on the licence application form.
- Your original overseas licence.
- A NAATI approved English translation of your licence or an international driving permit (only required if your overseas licence isn't in English).
- Your glasses or contact lenses (if you'll need them to pass an eyesight test).
- Any medical reports (if you have a medical condition or take prescribed medications which could affect your ability to drive).

If you take prescribed medications or have a medical condition that could affect your ability to drive, you'll need to tell us and provide relevant medical reports.
Important reminders!
- Once you've got a Victorian driver licence or learner permit, it's an offence for you to use your overseas licence to drive in Victoria.
- Don't forget to bring all the right documents along with you for your appointment. If you're not eligible, or forget to bring something, you will not be able to convert your licence and will not get a refund of your booking fees. You'll need to book and pay for a new appointment.
